National S'mores Day RECIPES!

Hey everyone! Did you know that yesterday was national S'more Day??? Even if you did or didn't celebrate it you can try out  these AWESOME s'more recipes! ENJOY!

How To:
  • Put 3 chocolate bars in a bowl and melt in the microwave. It’s easiest if you microwave them on high for 1 minute, stir, and repeat until it comes out smooth.
  • Dip a large marshmallow into your melted chocolate and then insert a stick into the chocolate coved side.
  • Then, for the graham cracker goodness, crush up a square and sprinkle it onto the chocolate-covered part of the marshmallow.
  • After the chocolate has had time to harden, toast the top of your marshmallow over the fire!

How To:
  • Toast 3 toaster waffles (I would use eggos!) until they are golden brown.
  • Sprinkle mini marshmallows all over one waffle, add Hershey’s chocolate pieces, and repeat for the second layer.
  • Top it off with a third toasted waffle and indulge on this s’mores sandwich!

How To:
  • Sprinkle a box of Honey Teddy Grahams onto a sheet of wax paper. (You want to make sure they are spread out, so when you drizzle chocolate on them, they will all get covered.)
  • Melt some milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and drizzle over all of the Teddy Grahams.
  • Next, sprinkle a bunch of mini marshmallows all over the chocolate because we all know the marshmallows are the best part :)
  • Then, let the chocolate harden and enjoy!

XOXO,
Hannah

DIY Glitter Tote Bag

I loved this super easy craft! The handbag is perfect for school and so chic and cute! Lets learn how to make it!

7686292846_c9b01d4027.jpg

  • 1 1/2 inch wide Scotch Duct Tape (in Hot Pink shown here, or the color or pattern of your choice)
  • canvas tote (available at most craft stores)
  • fabric glitter glue
  • sponges for spreading glue (you can use your fingers too)
  • craft-grade glitter
  • scissors
39538_alb_xlarge_514x600_28138_1343764180.jpg
  1. Tape off the top of the tote starting from the top stitched line of the bag. This will ensure that all of your stripes are straight.
  2. Continue to tape the entire front side of the tote, aligning each piece of tape with the next.
  3. Remove every other strip of tape. These spaces will be your glittery stripes! Be sure to save the strips of spare tape because you will need them later for the bow detail.
  4. Apply pea-sized dots of fabric glitter glue along each stripe of exposed fabric.
  5. Using your sponge, spread out the glue until it is evenly covering the exposed stripe of fabric.
  6. Sprinkle glitter over the glue. For best results, give it between 1-2 hours to dry before removing the tape strips. Repeat steps 4 through 6 until each exposed fabric strip is glittered!

Hey everybody it's SUMMER TIME!!!!!!! Finally! Well I encourage everybody to make soul book. (FYI: this lovely idea was not discovered by me! Melody Ross told us about it at the creative connection!! If you haven't checked out either her blog or the prodects she sells at Jo Ann's fabric, you despritly need to, she is so inspirational!!!!) a soul book is where you cut out lots of the same sized card board rectangles, then you simply stack all the card board cut outs on top of each other and duct tape the spine ( edges) of all of them stacked upon each other. After that you first find your locket of creativity and inspiration that is somewhere in your heart and express it on the pages of your so called "soul book". This could be painting, journaling, snipping up vintage paper and fabric to mod podge onto the pages or even adding memorable photos. ( mod podge is a type of glue, which i advise everyone to buy!! It works like a charm!! It is like my bff! Other than hannah!)Whatever it is, make sure to express yourself through the whole book!!! I hope you enjoy this project!!!!! Send us a picture of it on our email please!!!! Have fun!!!! Email: sewcrafty101@gmail.com

DIY Salt Spa DAY!!!!!

Here are some great salt spa recipes and ideas so you can have a SEA SALT SPA DAY! Sea Salt is great for your skin! if you have ever swam in the ocean or in a salt water pool you can sea that when you get out your skin feels soft and glows! So grab your girl friends and have a DIY (do it yourself) spa day!
Salt Pore Opener: Open your pores so that all your masks and treatments really have an effect right away! Add 1/2 to 1 cup of Sea Salt to a pan of steaming water. Turn off stove and lean your face over the steaming pot to open your pores! Too hot?! Simply move your face away and wait for it to cool down some.

Salt Honey Scrub: This scrub will deep cleanse your skin, making it clear and clean! Put 1 to 2 teaspoons of sea salt on a plate or bowl. Then add 2 to 2 1/2 teaspoons of honey or agave nectar. Want to make larger amounts? Apply to damp skin and wait ten minutes before washing off with cold water.

Salt Cloth: If you have sensitive skin, you might not like the salt honey scrub, so you may do this instead! Heat a bowl  with warm water and 1/2 cup of sea salt, then dip the washcloth into the bowl. Set the warm washcloth over your face for up to 10 minutes with eyes closed. (you might need to cut a hole in the washcloth so that you can breathe easily.

Salt Bath: Need to clean your entire body?! Then use this! Fill your tub up with warm water, then add 1 to 2 cups of sea salt to the tub before stepping in to soak.

IMPORTANT: Salt can dry out your skin if used to much!!! Definitely use a good moisturizer after using any of these products! If you have sensitive skin i do not recommend you using all these ideas on one day, it may leave to red, irritated skin.

Check it out!!!

You all will love what we recently just put up on etsy!!! It is a little wallet/ coupon pouch, and note pouch. It is so vintage and stylish with all the cute colors that we accorpated in it!

Miss poetic. Jk

In L.Arts we had to write poems about hope. My (taylor) mind was racing all around, trying how to figure out how to put all my words and ideas down on paper, but this is what I came up with:

1. Hope is that surge of eagerness when a baby finch is about fly.
2. Hope is the whistle of the ruffling leaves in a big broad oak.
3. Hope is the shooting star breaking through the surface of the dark black velvet sky.

This one doesn't really have nothing to do with hope, but I still like it:
She listened to her heart, flapped her wings a little harder, and soared so much higher.

Clever!!!!!

I(taylor) was watching the food network show on tv and this lady on her show has this cute saying,"eat. Giggle. Repeat." I don't know why but I thought that was so unique and cute!! So mine is "create. Be brave. Repeat." I know, I'm a genius!!!!!!!

Decorate your table! TABLE TIPS!

This was our table for the "Dad's and Daughter's Tea" at our school! Our theme was fancy farm girl! Our moms did it and would not show us anything! Keep on scrolling down for more pictures and tips on how to make your table look good!

In the center we have a big tree, never make your center piece too small. We also used mason jars for cups and center pieces. We also used an old crate!
We tied and clipped little saying on the tree such as fly, dream, gutsy, lear, inspire, etc.

Flowers are always great too!

For food we had crackers, sausage, and and cheese. For dessert we had black berry cobbler, key lime pound cake, and vanilla ice cream! For drinks we had raspberry lemonade and iced tea! Its always great to match the type of food with your party theme!

We took pictures of all the girls at the table from when they were little with their dads! It added a GREAT touch!

Last but not least , we dressed up to match the table too! With flowing dresses, and cow girl boots, we took the night away… p.s our dad wore cow boy boots too! ;)

Bike picture

Extreme goodness!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I think this is a genius idea. But sadly, this genius idea came out of a magazine and not my mind. Don't you hate when your ice cold lemonade gets watered down by the ice cubes in the drink. You just think, "Oh well, I can take the ice cubes out." But then your drink would not be cold! So to fix this problem you......
1) find a ice cube tray
2) fill the ice cube tray with yummy lemonade
3) put in a freezer until frozen
4) once frozen, take out and put lemonade ice cubes in a glass of lemonade.
5) ENJOY!!!!

So now you can enjoy your lemonade without the watered down taste. Also this works for any kinds of soda or cold tea!!!!

Double Sided TAPE!!!

Never underestimate the power of some tape! Today I (Hannah) was working in my room trying to hang up little things… such as stuff for my dolls room (video on what I was making up soon). And I couldn't use tacks so I tried double sided tape and couldn't believe the results, it came off my book shelf so fast and easy without tearing a thing. Wish it was a teeny bit stronger, but other than that I would definitely recommend picking yourself up a few roles… you never know when you might need it!

Have fun!

Keep your skin looking healthy and flawless!

Here are some super easy tips that can make your skin and hair glow!!!

1. Drink water: water help your skin glow, and it's affordable, so instead of soda drink a water with lemon!

2. Eat fruits and veggies: some fruits and veggies like blueberries, potatoes, greens, and citrus fruits will make your skin look flawless!

3. Use masks: you can find great and cheap face and hair masks at many drugstores! Some great ones are target, walmart, sallys beauty supply, and walgreens. You should use them about one every 1-2 weeks!

4. Treat with love: don't pick at your face, this can bring redness and irritation along with scaring!

5. Clean and keep: one of the most important tips us to wash tour face every morning and night, even when your tired. Also use a toner and moisturizer to help your skin heal!

6. Exercise: exercise daily to clean out your pores, just remember to wipe or wash your face afterward so that the sweat doesn't stay on your face!

7. Vitamin D: you can get other vitamins from fruits and veggies, but you also need vitamin D. You can get it from the sun, so SOAK it up! But…

8. Wear sun screen: always wear sunscreen, even if its cloudy! You can get powders and moisturizers with SPF in it too!

Photography?

Did you read Taylor's last post about wanting to learn how to knit? Well, I (Hannah) want to do more photography! Not just to have better pictures for our Etsy Shop (even though that is a big part) but I found out that I just LOVE pictures, I also love to edit them using tools like Picnik. Anyway, a camera that I think is SO adorable and SO vintage chic is the Diana camera or Diana F+.

They take really dewy, beautiful pictures, though to tell you the truth, I would most likely use it for decoration! They have other colors too!

This one is sold at UrbanOutfitters.com Check them out!
